RE Displays

Every child in the school was asked to make a butterfly for our entrance display. Each and every butterfly was special and unique and came together to make a beautiful display.

 Leading Lights Group

Leading Lights is a newly formed group of children from Year 4 and 5 who meet to discuss, plan and deliver collective worship to other classes in school. Group leaders are appointed to organise and facilitate these collective worship sessions in smaller groups, which include readings from scripture and personal reflections.

Reverse Advent Calendar

Before Christmas, the School Council discussed Citizenship and thought about ways of how we can help the wider community. They really loved the idea of a reverse advent calendar and assisted the staff in creating one. Members of the school council encouraged members of staff to donate items for the House of Mercy food bank. In total the staff donated a box that weighed 18.5kg!

Operation Christmas Child

St. John's are proud to take part in Samaritan's Purse 'Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal' again this year!

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to show God's love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the good news of Jesus Christ. This year, donated shoeboxes are making their way to boys and girls across the world.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Operation Christmas Child appeal and kindly donated a shoe box gift! We have collected 93 shoe box gifts and these will sure to make 93 children smile at Christmas this year. It was great to see the care and thought put into them and the lovely messages and prayers included.

Harvest Mass

We received another fantastic response to our Harvest Festival appeal from parents this year. A incredible range of tinned food, pasta, biscuits and toiletries were displayed around the altar at St John's Catholic Church where we had a wonderful celebration of Mass on Sunday 13th October. All donations received were shared between the Gravesham Foodbank and the House of Mercy.

Update from the Gravesham Foodbank - The combined total from parish and school was a fantastic 373kg! A massive thank you to everyone!
