Young Interpreters Conference

Based at Northfleet Technology College, pupils attended the Young Interpreters Conference to celebrate the gifts and talents of our multilingual children and the diversity of our school communities.

Pupils from several local primary and secondary schools attended; it was fantastic to see our pupils working alongside peers from other schools and taking advantage of the opportunity to participate in a number of workshops, including dance, music, arts and grafts and vocabulary games.

The Young Interpreters at St John’s work really hard to help their younger colleagues who can only speak limited English, becoming Buddies throughout their time with us at school and supporting them whenever they need a friend. We look forward to attending the event again next year.
