Year 6 'Icebergs'

 

Year 6 have begun this term by introducing their new topic 'Frozen Kingdom'. To focus on the global changes in climate; they completed an observation on how 'icebergs' melting can effect the water level. At the beginning of the day, measurements were collected for initial water levels in a trough. Regular records were then made (every 30 minutes) to read and identify changes in the water level as well as consider how the 'icebergs' were altering in their appearance. This learning will lead to further considerations of how the melting ice-caps could have a direct effect on the global sea levels.
