Year 6 Engineer Visit

We were extremely lucky to have a visit from Mrs Kassim and Mrs Hughes on Friday. They introduced us in to the world of Engineering- promoting the learning of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). During their presentation, we were immersed in to the world around us that is primarily designed, and enhanced, by experts to enable us to have the very best experiences such as: using mobile phones to improve communication and entertainment; building bridges to join communities; designing theme parks to develop thrill-rides. Going forwards, year 6 will be embarking on our very own STEM project- designing, creating and testing ice-breaker vessels to complement our 'Frozen Kingdom' topic. Many thanks to our guests; their talk was truly inspirational.
