Year 5 Venture to the Tower of London!
As the new school year began, Year 5 ventured to London to visit the Tower of London, as part of their History topic, learning about Crime and Punishment.
It was an fun-filled, busy and interesting day; pupils were enthralled as they learnt about different forms of punishment dating back in history, including The Rack”, “The Manacles” and “The Scavenger’s Daughter”, and finding out more significant people in history came to their end in the Tower – including Anne Boleyn!
Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day, culminating with a visit to the Crown Jewels and watching snippets of the Queen’s coronation, and hunting for the ravens that live in the Tower. It was great to see pupils immersed in their learning – many of whom wanted to try the Crown Jewels on themselves!
