Year 5 Egyptian Day

On Monday, we had lots of fun and completed many tasks relating to our topic, the Ancient Egyptians.  We took part in the following activities:

·       We learn what are death masks and why the Ancient Egyptians used them.

·       We created our own deaths masks using paint and PVA glue

·       We investigated the famous pyramids, which still stand today in Egypt. We looked at the reasons for them being built and how many men it took to complete them!

·       We learnt how to write like an Egyptian, created our own cartouche and cracked the hieroglyph code

​We investigated how the Ancient Egyptians took care of their sick – we soon realised they relied on herbal remedies and magic charms
