Budding Entrepreneurs
Whilst some pupils participated in our annual Year 6 residential trip, the rest of the year group took part in an exciting enterprise challenge, called ‘Grow a Fiver’. Tasked with £5, each group chose how they would invest their money with the aim of creating a profit, taking into consideration the cost prices of ‘raw goods’, amounts of units, supplies and the final cost to customers.
Pupils displayed tremendous skills as they recognised their competitors, developing offers to ensure their products would entice customers to their stall! Each team created logos and posters to promote their products and delivered sales pitches to junior pupils – which were all a tremendous success as every stall was completely sold out thanks to pupils from Year 3, 4 and 5 being so impressed with their pitches! The customers seemed to enjoy the range of products and activities that had been prepared and, in all, pupils raised more than £200!
