Uniform

The uniform tradition is as old as the school itself. It was started in order to ensure all pupils were smart, identifiable and focused on learning rather than concerned about what is fashionable. That is why it is strictly enforced. The notion is “they can all do it or none can do it”!

  • Hair Styles – pupil’s hair should be well-groomed and in a style suitable for school. Hair which is bleached, coloured, highlighted etc. is not acceptable. Short cropped hair must not have shapes, words or logos shaved into it. Plain gold, silver, white or navy hair clips may be worn if needed or plain navy or white hair bands. Coloured braids or brightly coloured headbands are not permitted.
  • Footwear – pupils must wear black school shoes, not black trainers or boots. Boots are not acceptable because the children often sit crossed-legged on the floor and boots cut into their legs and stop circulation.
  • P.E. Kit – Navy blue shorts, yellow polo shirts or t-shirts and black plimsolls. These must be placed in a bag with all items labelled. Plimsolls are necessary so that the children do not slip on the equipment. A plain black or navy blue tracksuit is needed for autumn / winter months. It is also advisable for pupils, up to Year 5, to leave their PE kit in school, for emergency use, when shoes break, or they get their clothes wet, etc.
  • Jewellery is not permitted with the exception of small stud or sleeper earrings and a watch.
  • Pupils also need a school bag, to carry their reading books and homework and any school letters. Please check regularly.

As a school community, we all strive to do our best for the children.
